looks versus YOU

I wonder what is that for which a person is appreciated for..his looks, skills, attitude, achievement. and what if a person lacks in any one of these. Likewise, what if a person has some beautiful talents, is good at what he does yet has a lackluster looks? The world is so hypocritical or is it the human thinking to be blamed. The first thing that catches the eye is the outer appearance, the physical beauty. In most of the cases the inner beauty or a beautiful heart never really stand a chance in the battle between looks and the inner beauty. I have always taken pride in whatever little I had, to appreciate whatever skills i was bestowed upon yet most of the times I am being looked down upon for the things I might lack, precisely my looks that may not be as appealing.  The irony of the whole thing is that you were belittled by those whom you feel are the precious ones in your life. But then I always believe in the saying "count thy blessings". May be what seems less to me may be more from someone the perspective of someone else. Who cares what the world thinks about you...It might hurt at times but then you cant quit living..so live it with pride..sometimes an assumed pride <winks>
